In order for you to help meet our expectations we have posted our hotel and restaurant guidelines. These are guidelines not rules!!!


MARDI GRAS NEW ORLEANS
We fly from New England to New Orleans where the fun begins. On arrival in New Orleans you will be transferred to your hotel the Country Inn and Suites French Quarter. After checking in to the hotel we will visit the Katrina Exhibit in Jackson Square. This exhibit is a hands on experience where the docents will share many stories with you. The stories of courage and survival are sure to inspire you, and perhaps even change your perspective as to what happened during this crisis. After visiting the Katrina Exhibit we will take a horse drawn carriage ride through the French Quarter. Tonight you will be given a dine as you please card where you can choose the restaurant you wish to eat in. After dark Bourbon Street comes alive and you are only a few short blocks from the hotel, listen to the music, get the feel of Mardi Gras, and enjoy the people. Dinner

Day 2: Breakfast will be included at the hotel.
We will then journey a short distance to the WWII Museum where a 4D movie will be shown, honoring the heroes that preserved our freedom. No matter your age this movie is sure to move you. The movie will be followed by lunch and show at the museum. The afternoon is yours to enjoy the exhibits. It will take you at least three hours to explore this interactive museum. Tonight for dinner we will feature the New Orleans School of Cooking where a volunteer will be asked to help prepare the meal. The meal will feature a complete soup to dessert meal and instructions on how to create the same meal at home. The School of cooking is close to Bourbon Street and you might want to enjoy the nightlife, visit the famous Pat O’Brien’s or Preservation Hall after dinner. Breakfast Lunch and Dinner

Day 3: Breakfast will be included at the hotel before being joined by a local guide for a New Orleans City tour. On the city tour you will see the Garden District, the Parks, cemeteries, landmarks from movies, the Super Dome and so much more. You will have time to visit the French Market and enjoy beignets and Café au lait. Tonight there are three parades passing on same route in New Orleans: The Knights of Babylon starts at 5:45 and following them at 6:30 is Knights of Chaos and Krewe of Muses. One group is elite men’s club and one is a woman’s parade, where they throw things for women, such as purses, shoes, etc. After the parade you will have time to visit the Casino, enjoy Bourbon St and the restaurants of New Orleans. Breakfast

Day 4: This morning before departing New Orleans we will enjoy a New Orleans Breakfast at "THE COURT OF tEO SISTERS"." We will travel an hour south to Houma, an area known for having the largest Mardi Gras Celebration in the country. We will visit a Mardi Gras Den, see the costumes and the float assembly. All the questions you have about the Mardi Gras Parades will be answered. Next it is on to an alligator farm where you will see how alligators are raised for meat and hides. If you want, you will be given the opportunity to hold an alligator. Our home for the next two nights will be the Quality Inn Houma. Tonight we will feature dinner and a Mardi Gras Celebration with entertainment.. Breakfast and Dinner.

Day 5: A hot breakfast buffet will be included
before we take a swamp boat tour along the: National Wildlife refuge. You are sure to see colorful birds and if we are lucky perhaps an alligator. This afternoon we will enjoy another Mardi Gras Parade. We will be close enough to the parade route where you will be able to catch beads and trinkets being thrown from the floats. Tonight we will enjoy a plantation dinner with entertainment at 12 Oaks PlantationBreakfast and Dinner included.

Day 6: A hot breakfast buffet is include this morning. .
On our way to the airport we will visit Laura Plantation where you will learn about Plantation Life. This attraction has been voted as one of the best attractions in Louisiana. At this plantation discover a unique way of life where property was inherited by the smartest not the eldest, and property was passed to women when the rest of the country was passing property to only male heirs.
