In order for you to help meet our expectations we have posted our hotel and restaurant guidelines. These are guidelines not rules!!!


FALL FOLIAGE IN NOVASCOTIA AND THE MARITIMES
Sept 20 Boston to Bangor
Day 1:
You will depart from the Boston area and continue to Bangor, Me. where you will overnight at the Fireside Inn. You will find that next to the hotel is a casino for those that like to tempt Lady luck. B D

Sept 21 Bangor to Caraquet
Day 2:
We depart Bangor for the capital city of Fredericton, NB. Where we will make a lunch stop before continuing on to Caraquet the New Brunswick capital of Acadian culture. Tonight you will overnight at the Auberge de la Baie Caraquet and will be welcomed to New Brunswick with a regional Acadian Feast. B D

Sept 22 Caraquet Acadian Village - Bouctouche
Day 3:
After a hearty breakfast you will visit the Acadian Village. Once you pass through the gates of the Acadian Village a remarkably authentic historical site will be found. The Village Historique Acadien strives to portray the lives of Acadians between 1770 and 1949. Interpreters in period costume bring ancestral customs to life and staff more than 40 complexes while demonstrating traditional trades of the region. Through out the day you will here the music of the Acadian people. In the afternoon you will travel along the Acadian Coast to Bouctouche and will overnight at the Auberge Bouctouche Inn & Suites. B D

Sept 23 Bouctouche to Summerside PEI
Day 4:
Your day begins with a full breakfast and a visit a unique artesian soap factory. The Olivier Soapery is bursting with color, fragrance, and fun! It’s a great learning experience in a relaxed environment, where you can talk to the artisan about suds, skincare, and the craft of soap making from the early 19th century to today. Demonstrations of the fine art of making soap take place daily, and in the Olivier Soapery boutique, you can pick one of more than 140 entirely natural products. Sensational scents and bubbles await! In the afternoon we will visit the Acadian Village at Le Pays de la Sagouine. Your meal will be accompanied by Acadian, music, story telling both in English and French and you are shore to enjoy the Acadian Music as well. In the late afternoon we will cross the Confederation Bridge into PEI and overnight at the Loyalist Lakeside Resort. This evening we will feature a PEI lobster dinner B L D

Sept 24 PEI to Baddeck
Day 5:
The day begins wit a full breakfast followed by a visit the PEI Preserve company, Ann of Green Gables Museum, and the Acadian Museum. We will cross from Wood Island PEI to Caribou, NS on the 2:30 Ferry. Arriving on the Mainland at 4:00 PM. We will travel to Baddeck where we will overnight at The Silver Dart Lodge B D.

Sept 25 Cabot Trail
Day 6:
Before departing the lodge a full hot breakfast buffet will be available to you. Our first stop will be at the Alexander Graham Bell Museum where you can discover what a remarkable man and inventor Alexander Graham Bell was. Next it is on the Cabot Trail where you will travel along the rugged Coastline of Nova Scotia, frequent stops will be made for photos. At time it may appear your coach is hanging over the edge of the road, rest assured the wheels on the pavement and the road is perfectly safe for motor coaches. As you travel the Cabot Trial you will stop for a picnic lunch overlooking the dramatic coast line. Tonight we will feature dinner at the Acadian Co Op and Restaurant where you will get a taste of the Acadian cooking and lifestyle. B LD

Sept 26 Baddeck to Grand Pre
Day 7:
Your day begins with breakfast and an early departure as we depart for the Grand Pre Historic Site. (8:00) This site tells the tragic story of the deportation of those that would not swear allegiance to the King of England. Henry Wadsworth Longfellow has immortalized this story of this deportation in his poem, Evangeline. You will have the time with a park interpreter and time to visit the Visitor Center. Tonight we will feature a special dinner for you at the Grand Pre Winery. B D

Sept 27 Grand Pre -Turro
Day 8:
We will depart Grand Pre for Church Point Your first stop will be at St. Mary’ s Church, the largest and tallest wooded structure in North America. St Mary’s is the focus of the Acadian Culture in this region of Nova Scotia and sits on the grounds of one of two French-speaking Universities in Atlantic Canada. We will then continue up the Coastline to Annapolis Royal with a visit to historic Ft. Ann. We will also stop by for a look at the Tidal generating station. Tonight we will overnight in Truro at the Best Western. B D

Sept 28 Truro – St John
Day 09: Our journey continues as we go past Amherst one of the early deportation sites for the Acadian People. We will travel through Monkton and overnight in St John. We hope to time our visit right so that you will be able to witness the reversing falls due to the dramatic tidal changes on the Bay of Fundy. Tonight we will overnight at the Country Inn and Suites B D

Sept 29 St John to Portland
Day 10: We depart St John this morning at 8 am ( we loose an hour when we cross back in to USA) You will arrive in Portland in the late afternoon where you will be met by a local guide. You will visit the Portland head Light at the head of the Harbor and will travel along to some of Portland’s historic sites including the Eastern Bluff and the Promenade. Tonight we will feature a farewell Dinner B D

Sept 30 Homeward Bound
You will return back to Boston in time to catch afternoon flights. if you are flying out or to your point of origination if traveling by motor coach. B
