Today you arrive in Boston where you will be transferred to your hotel located just outside of the Boston City Limits. This afternoon join your tour director for a welcome drink before dinner. Dinner Day 2: Boston City Tour. We begin our tour today by exploring Boston’s History. On your tour you will learn why there is a statue of Mary Dwyer on the grounds of the Statehouse, why Massachusetts had the first Black regiment in the Civil War, How Boston became known as the land of the Bean and the Cod. You will learn about the real story of the Boston Tea Party and the Boston Massacre as well as seeing some of Boston’s most famous sites. . You will see the waterfront, the Financial District, Chinatown,. Boston Common, , Beacon Hill, The Cheer’s Bar, the Old North Church and so much more. A break will be made for shopping and exploring Boston’s famed Quincy Market Place before going on tour the USS Constitution. Breakfast and Dinner included. Day 3 Concord and Lexington. Breakfast at leisure in hotel. Before departing for tour of Concord and Lexington where the first stop will be at the Minuteman National Park Visitor Center. The story of April 19,1776 will be told using a multimedia presentation. You will discover that most of what we were taught in school about this day is not accurate. Learn why the battle on Lexington Green never should have taken place. Next it is on to historic Concord where you will learn that Paul Revere never made the midnight ride and never became famous for the ride until Longfellow wrote a poem about him 90 years after the event. Many are surprised to learn that learn that Paul Reveres task was to warn John Hancock and Samuel Adams that the British were after them. Most people don’t realize that John Hancock was one of the most notorious smugglers of the colony and that Samuel Adams had several warrants against him for treason against the Crown. At the North Bridge you will learn that British were after brass canon’s that were stolen from the armory in Boston. Having lightweight brass canons would be the equivalent of some one stealing a nuclear weapon in today’s time. In fact the British troops were instructed not to fire on British citizens. . Your guide will relate the stories of what happened in Concord to similar events that happened at Ruby Ridge and Wako. Only victors write history books and all history is a mater of perspective. Lunch on own in Concord. In the afternoon we will visit the JFK Presidential Library, this is a must for anyone who is a history buff or interested in the Kennedy presidency Your guide can suggest for dinner all with in an easy walk or short cab ride away. Breakfast and Dinner Day 4 Boston to the White Mountains Breakfast at leisure at hotel. Depart Boston for the White Mountains. Upon arrival in the White Mountains the first stop will be the Cannon Mountain Ariel tramway. The fall colors will be close to peak at this time of the year. On top of the tram station and at the base there are cafeterias to get lunch. We will then continue north through Franconia Notch and Crawford Notch for scenic viewing. We will cut across Bear Notch to the Kangamaugus Highway avoiding the congestion of North Conway. Scenic stops will be made along the way. Tonight we will stay at the renovated Indian Head Resort Breakfast , Dinner and entertainment at hotel. Day 5 Vermont Breakfast at hotel. Vermont along Rt 2.. a stop will be made in Montpelier to explore the capital city. Lunch at the Main Street Grill ( New England Culinary Institute) Photo stop at the Capital building. Later it is on to Cold Holler where you will see how cider is pressed and have the opportunity to taste other Vermont products. In the afternoon we will stop at the Cabot Creamery annex for cheese sampling before going on to Burlington where we will overnight. Tonight we feature a dinner cruise along the shores of Lake Champlain. Breakfast and Dinner. Day 6 Burlington to Montreal Breakfast at leisure The morning will be spent at the Shelburne Museum. In the afternoon we will travel to Montreal where the next two nights will be pent.. Breakfast and Dinner. Day 7 Montreal Breakfast at leisure, Depart hotel for Montreal City tour including a stop at St. Joseph’s Oratory, Mount Royal, Old Montreal,. Olympic Park. After the tour, the coach will drop those that want to shop in the downtown core and will return to pick people up in the afternoon. Those that don’t want to shop might want time to explore the Old City. The horse drawn Carriage rides and the artist quarter are less then five minutes from the hotel. The botanical Gardens and the Biodome are great places to spend an afternoon. Tonight we will feature a visit to the Casino where dinner is part of your casino bonus package. Breakfast and Dinner. Day 8 Montreal to Quebec Breakfast at leisure. Depart for Quebec City a local guide will meet us for a tour of old and New Quebec. Your Hotel will be located outside the gates of the old city. Breakfast and Dinner Day 9 Quebec Breakfast at leisure. The morning is free to explore the old city on your own. In the afternoon we will visit Mont Morency Falls and the shrine at the Cathedral of St. Anne. On our return dinner will be at the Aux Anciens Canadiens for a typical Quebec Meal. Breakfast and Dinner. Day 10 Quebec to Maine. This morning it will be a 7:30 start as we are traveling over scenic Maine roads. We will arrive in Bangor in the late afternoon where we will overnight. The afternoon will be free to relax and use the hotel facilities. Breakfast and Dinner. On our way to Bar Harbor we will visit the Roosevelt Estate at Campobello Island. Pease Park. Here you will lean about the life of FDR and the challenges he overcame. Our home for the next two nights will be Bar Harbor. Breakfast and Dinner included. Day 12 Acadia National Park Bar Harbor Breakfast at leisure, followed by a visit to Acadia National Park and local tour. As we Drive along the Shore Road you will see Blow Holes and dramatic Scenery. Tonight we will feature a Maine Lobster Dinner. Breakfast and Dinner. Day 13 Oct 05 Bar Harbor to Portland Breakfast at leisure, today we drive the Coastal route through Camden, Rockport, Damariscotta and Wiscasset. We will arrive in Portland in the late afternoon. Breakfast and Dinner. Day 14 Portland Breakfast at leisure, followed by a Down East Duck tour (a tour of Portland by land and sea.) Visit the Portland Head light , and Bug Light House and have time to explore the historic District Tonight we say good by to new found friends at our farewell banquet. Breakfast and Dinner. Day 15 home Breakfast at Leisure, transfers to Boston and Portland Airport provided.
